Odem
is a piece of jewelry, containing a personal information, that is encoded into it's material.The wearer can reveal the information by performing an intimate ritual. If it's dark and cold outside, one can breath life into the ring, as the foggy air reveals holographic points of light, that are focused by the computationally generated facets of the ring.The points resemble the constellation of the planets in our solar system at a specific point in time. Just as people have long looked upon the stars and planets to capture storys and understand their place in the universe - the user can choose a very special moment in time and a unique constellation is calculated to resemble it. So a very personal and emotionally charged piece of jewelry is created.
This is a university research project, heavily inspired by the work of KIMCHI and CHIPS.
